Paris

Visited on 11-13 July 2025 Visited Paris several times before, visited this time to take my partner who never visited Paris. Also to visit friends.  Sightseeing Paris is for me the most beautiful city in the world. So many beautiful buildings, just walking around is fun. Musee d'Orsay https://maps.app.goo.gl/GHZb4wx6XXnk7idP6 I have visited Louvre, but never this museum. It was really fun, there are plenty famous and amazing paintings and statues. The view from the rooftop was also nice. The cafe too. Unfortunately we had to rush in the end because they were closing. Bateaux-Mouches (Seine River Cruise) https://maps.app.goo.gl/GHZb4wx6XXnk7idP6 There are many boat cruise, this company is one of the popular one since there were so many people got on the boat. My friend bought cheaper corporate ticket for me.   Restaurant Chez Marthe https://maps.app.goo.gl/WoVnD6P2cpQcm2ha9 Had dinner with friends who live in Paris. Was great food and reasonable. Spent about EUR 50 per person f...

Malaga

Visited on 13-14 July 2025 Visited because it was near to Seville and I have never visited before.  However, the Cathedral, one of the biggest attraction, closed earlier this day, so we could not enter. Good thing was the Alcazaba (fortress) and Castillo de Gibralfaro (castle on top of the hill, https://maps.app.goo.gl/LAMPLbeKpVwkDKM28) were free to enter. The pedestrian only city center was also nice to walk. We didn't have time to visit Picasso Museum (Picasso was born in Malaga). We also didn't have time to explore the beaches. Restaurant Bodega el Pimpi https://maps.app.goo.gl/QoB2iNodVjT24NfaA Probably the most famous restaurant in Malaga, located near Roman Theater. It was crowded and we had to wait for the seat, but they managed the crowd very well. The taste was so so and it was not cheap. Overrated I think. La Taberna del Pintxo Larios https://maps.app.goo.gl/gasvhPz7Ej8NXjXQ7 Recommended by a blog. The place is spacious, the taste of the tapas was good and the price ...

Seville

Visited on 14 July 2025 I visited once many years ago, but didn't have memory back then, so didn't expect much. The main reason visiting this city was for Kylie Minogue concert. However, the visit was very nice. We entered the Cathedral and the Real Palace, and amazed with their beauties. The old city was also pretty. Sightseeing Catedral de Seville https://maps.app.goo.gl/7Kr1qbVoRPfzHjEY9 It was amazingly beautiful, especially the interior.  We were first directed to climb the bell tower with amazing view. We purchased the ticket online and was glad, otherwise we needed to queue in the hot weather. Many rooms in the cathedral with statues and painting that made me mumbled wow so many times. Real Alcazar de Seville https://maps.app.goo.gl/6XRiahVjYrR9sxT66 Another main tourist spot in Seville. We also purchase the ticket online with the entrance timing fixed. It was so huge, with pretty big garden. Setas de Seville https://maps.app.goo.gl/KxDGaRyfsXNS9GeC9 It is relatively new...

Gibraltar and La Linea de La Concepcion

Visited on 15-16 July 2025  Gibraltar is under UK though located on the tip of Spain. The Spanish city in the border is La Linea de La Concepcion. The border has pedestrian crossing with passport check at both Spanish and UK side. At the Spanish side, there was shopping/restaurant arcade with Burger King and Mc Donald's. Since the cost in Gibraltar is much more expensive than La Linea, we decided to stay in La Linea and walk through the border to Gibraltar. Gibraltar City Center The city center is located around this point https://maps.app.goo.gl/TnzH7bJtTvsg7CJq6 There is pedestrian street full of shops. Surprisingly, most shops closed early at about 5pm.  Upper Rock and the National Park We followed the sign to Upper Rock from the City Center. There is a ticket check at the entrance near Moorish Castle. https://maps.app.goo.gl/DyZPFwLZWwfuPmJa8 Since we booked the ticket online, we just showed the email and were handed over the paper bracelet with bar code.  Since the M...

London

Visited on 18 and 20 July 2025 Sightseeing West End Theaters We watched a play called Stranger Things, based on the famous Netflix series. There are so many performances to choose, too bad we didn't have time to watch. Update for September 2025 I booked 4 shows, comparing below listed booking websites. The price really varied between the websites, the shows, even the categories of ticket. When I booked The Book of Mormon, Official London Theatre showed the cheapest for the seat I wanted to book, but when I booked The Devil Wears Prada, London Theatre Direct gave me the cheapest. For Hercules, the theater direct website gave me the cheapest. Advance tickets booking websites I used for comparison: Official London Theatre: https://officiallondontheatre.com/ London Theatre Direct: https://www.londontheatredirect.com/ West End Theatre: https://www.westendtheatre.com/ London Theatre: https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/ Ticket Master Theatre: https://guides.ticketmaster.co.uk/west-end-theatr...

Dublin and Northern Ireland

Visited on 17-19 July 2025 Dublin   The old city is pretty with cobbled stone.  We just walked around and didn't enter places that needs tickets like cathedrals and castle. The Temple Street is pretty with the famous Temple Bar. Guinness Storehouse https://maps.app.goo.gl/NEWp92SUwVpFYBaw5  One of the most popular tourist spot in Dublin. I bought the ticket online (EUR 26), it was a self-guided tour to factory-turned-museum of Guinness, the ticket included one glass of beer or soft drink. River Dance Show at Gaiety Theater https://maps.app.goo.gl/vUXnwJWbHwNzZsQf9 We bought the ticket on the spot. We really enjoyed the show, included not only Irish Dance, but also other tap dances, i.e. Flamenco and American style tap dance. Day Trip to Northern Ireland (Belfast and Giant's Causeway) Joined the day trip to Belfast and Giant's Causeway by Wild Dover tour company. It was nice. I have been wanting to visit Giant's Causeway for long time after seeing its photo on internet. ...
