Itinerary

Day-1: 11 July 2025 Paris
Arrived in Paris in the morning by Qatar Airways, checked-in our Airbnb, visited Musee d'Orsay. Dinner with friends living in Paris.

Day-2: 12 July 2025 Paris
Walked around Paris, Seine River Cruise, watched show.

Day-3: 13 July 2025 Malaga
Flied to Malaga by Vueling Airline.
Walked around Malaga.

Day-4: 14 July 2025 Seville
Took train to Seville.Walked around Seville. Kylie Minogue concert at night.

Day-5: 15 July 2025 La Linea, Gibraltar
By Blablacar, took a ride to La Linea de La Concepcion.
After checked in our hotel, walked crossing the border to Gibraltar.
Hiked to the mountain and walked around the mountain.
Met a Couchsurfing friend in Gibraltar and together we went to the fair in La Linea.

Day-6: 16 July 2025 London
By British Airways, we flied to London from Gibraltar.
Watched play Stranger Things at West End theater.

Day-7: 17 July 2025 Dublin
Flied RyanAir to Dublin. Walked around Dublin. Watched River Dance show.

Day-8: 18 July 2025 Northern Ireland
Joined a day trip from Dublin to Belfast and Giant's Causeway.

Day-9: 19 July 2025 Howth, Isle of Man
Went to Howth, a fishing village near Dublin.
In the afternoon, flied Aer Lingus to Isle of Man.
Drove around Isle of Man southern area.

Day-10: 20 July 2025 Isle of Man, London
Walked around Douglas, and drove around northern and eastern part of Isle of Man, also hiked to the mountain.
At London, we walked at night, along the Thames River south bank.

Day-11: 21 July 2025 Genoa
Flied RyanAir from London to Genoa.
Walked around Genoa.

Day-11: 22 July 2025 Cinque Terre
Took the train to Cinque Terre.
Hiked and visited all five villages of Cinque Terre: Riomaggiore, Manola, Carniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso.

Day-12: 23 July 2025 La Spezia, Lucca, Pisa, Florence
Took the train to Florence, and had short stops at La Spezia, Lucca and Pisa.
Walked around Florence at night.

Day-13: 24 July 2025 Florence
Walked around Florence. Visited Uffizi Gallery in the morning, and Dome complex in the afternoon. Enjoyed the night at Piazzale Michelangelo.

Day-14: 25 July 2025 Tuscany, Rome
Drove rental car from Florence, stopping at Via d'Orcia for the cypress tree road and Saturni hot spring.
After returning the car at Roma Termini Station and checked-in hotel, walked around Rome at night.

Day-15: 26 July 2025 Rome
Walked around Rome, visited Roma Forum and Colosseum.
Flied back to Doha by Turkish Airlines. 

 

Communication

I bought esim for Europe, my partner purchase physical SIM from Free in France.
Free is recommended, only EUR 20 (including SIM fee EUR 10), can have lots of data and local calls.

Gibraltar and Isle of Man coverage were a bit tricky. I could not use the esim I purchased. 

 

Transportation

Airplane

Used many airlines in this trip, below are some notes/tips.

Lounges
I used app "Visa Airport Companion", complimentary from my Visa Infinite credit card. I could enjoy lounges in all airports I used in this trip, including Gibraltar and Isle of Man.

RyanAir
As other LCC, the baggage is a bit tricky, and at some airports, the staffs were strictly implementing the restriction. I saw some passengers had to pay for their baggage because they failed to put their luggage in the measurement just before boarding.

 

Train

Used a lot of train in Italy and one in Spain.

Italy
TrenItaly website is very useful for making advance booking. Unfortunately their app could not be downloaded if our Google account is not Italian address.
Purchasing ticket at the train station by the machine, require validation, which a bit complicated.

Rental Car

 

Blablacar

Used to travel from Seville to La Linea. Cheaper and faster than bus, but depend of luck finding a driver.

Visited on 17-19 July 2025 Dublin   The old city is pretty with cobbled stone.  We just walked around and didn't enter places that needs tickets like cathedrals and castle. Seville

Visited on 14 July 2025 I visited once many years ago, but didn't have memory back then, so didn't expect much. The main reason visiting this city was for Kylie Minogue concert. However, the visit was very nice. We entered the Cathedral and the Real Palace, and amazed with their beauties. The old city was also pretty. We purchased the ticket online and was glad, otherwise we needed to queue in the hot weather. Many rooms in the cathedral with statues and painting that made me mumbled wow so many times. Gibraltar and La Linea de La Concepcion

Visited on 15-16 July 2025  Gibraltar is under UK though located on the tip of Spain. The Spanish city in the border is La Linea de La Concepcion. The border has pedestrian crossing with passport check at both Spanish and UK side. At the Spanish side, there was shopping/restaurant arcade with Burger King and Mc Donald's. Since the cost in Gibraltar is much more expensive than La Linea, we decided to stay in La Linea and walk through the border to Gibraltar. Surprisingly, most shops closed early at about 5pm.  Upper Rock and the National Park We followed the sign to Upper Rock from the City Center.
