Cinque Terre
Visited on 22-23 July 2025
Sightseeing
The Five Villages (order from North to South or from Genoa or Levanto side to La Spezia or Pisa side)
Monterosso
Most famous for the beach with huge amount of umbrellas.
We went by train at late after the sunset, so we could not see the umbrella.
There is a giant statue called Statua del Gigante at the north end of the beach.

Vernazza
One of the most picturesque village with beautiful port.
The nice photo spots are at the hiking course before and after the village.
Carniglia
I think it is the smallest and the quietest village.
We stayed overnight at this village.
The village access is the hardest (need to climb long zigzag stairs) from the station amongst the other villages, therefore the accommodation is cheaper than other village. Bus from the station to the village can be accessed using Cinque Terre card.
Manarola
One of the most picturesque village.
The nice photo spot is at the overlook near the famous restaurant Nessun Dorma.

The view from the seat is also nice.
Riomaggiore
The most popular and crowded, also one of the most picturesque village.
The nice photo spot is here on the way to the beach/sea entrance: https://maps.app.goo.gl/rJcP2kWQ2K7KtReJ7
There is a castle here with entrance fee. The view behind the castle is also nice.

The gelato shop with the handsome staff here is good: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Vo4u5A55DZaLz6718
The Hiking
The hiking courses between the villages.
Riomaggiore - Manarola
The most famous and easy path called Via dell' Amore. Even with Cinque Terre Card, additional entrance fee is required. During online purchase, it can be added as an option. Even though it is pretty, I don't think it is worth it the price.
Manarola - Corniglia
It was the most picturesque course, I think, it started (since we started from the south) from the view spot near the famous restaurant Nessun Dorma. The views were always good when we turned back as we hiked up (so probably hiking the other way was better).
Since the nearest course along the course was closed, we needed to go up, via a village called Volastra in the mountain. The course was a bit tricky, since we missed to follow the main course. We followed other course according to AllTrails, but we had to go through thick bushes.
Corniglia - Vernazza
The view of Corniglia was less pretty than the view of Vernazza.
There is a famous restaurant in the end of the course near Vernazza called Ristorante La Torre https://maps.app.goo.gl/vs62kmxHYMEHKpQJ8, with good view of the city.
Vernazza - Monterosso
In the beginning of the hiking course, there was the best view of the city.
We did not continue the 2 hours course to Monterosso since the sun had set and we were exhausted.
La Spezia
La Spezia is the south hub entrance to Cinque Terre.
We stopped for lunch here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Tqkenusbu1fGXcD28
The market here is also interesting: https://maps.app.goo.gl/5xX1svn8QmKuop158
We walked through the pedestrian street to the sea side.
